Honestly, I'm so excited to write this post! Whether I've seen these trends on Pinterest, through my internship, or just online, I've totaled up all of my top trends for weddings!
1. |Tea light centerpieces|
If there's one thing that I've seen consistently at the weddings I've worked, it's using tea lights in centerpieces. It's one of the most simple assets you can use for a table but it creates such a warm and fun vibe to the whole reception. And I think they look amazing when they're floating!
2. |Sequined bridesmaid dresses|
Okay, these aren't tacky as they sound. Up until now, I would think that sequins are too much and take the focus away from the bride & groom, but this trend of darker colored, sequined-styled dresses brings such a classy look to a bridal party. Colors like maroon, navy, darker golds and even blush are ones that I think won't make the overall wedding look at all tasteless or flashy. Here are some of my favorite ones!
3. |Simple ballgown wedding dresses|
There are endless options when it comes to wedding dress styles, but one that has been sticking out to me lately is a variation of the original ballgown. There isn't a name for it that I could find but the dress basically has a more detailed top (with lace, the belt, necklines) and a very full, layered bottom. It creates such a timeless and elegant look that I think will continue to be a trend in the upcoming years.
4. |Deconstructed/simplistic wedding cakes|
Wedding cake designs have been heading towards a more plain, disassembled type of look. What I mean by this is that these cake styles don't have the typical cake frosting that covers the whole cake. Instead, it's pretty much what you would see before you would normally frost the cake. What I love is that this cake actually ends up producing a frosted, elegant look. I also love simple, repeated designs on a cake. Something like lines, ripples or dots on each tier produces a very minimal and effortless look.
5. |Wedding videos|
I feel like people either love or hate this trend, but for me I think it's such a unique and special way to remember & celebrate the best day! I just love how the videographers are able to capture every aspect of the day, from the start to the end. This is something that photos simply can't depict- video is able to portray pure interactions & movement, almost as if a viewer was actually there. Plus, the couple can watch it for years to come!
