1. Buy a big calendar.
This may sound like a bit too much, but it is so helpful to have a full 12-month calendar. Hang it above your desk, on your closet door, somewhere you see it every day. Unlike a planner or agenda, this calendar gives you a comprehensive view of the year in a big square format. You can fit all the info you would ever need.
2. Color code.
Ordering your events, assignments and to-do's by color helps you determine what is happening in each aspect of your life every day. Plus, it brings a little more color to your days!
3. Schedule out every day.
Every day, write out your schedule by time and your work/tasks next to it:
10-10:50 Class -Read Chapter 11
11-12 Break -Submit Project
12-12:50 Class -Upload Blog Post
1-2 Break
2-5 Work
Listing all of the things you need to get done next to your schedule can help you easily find free time to get those tasks done throughout the day.
4. Plan out your consistent events in advance.
Whether you use your phone or a paper calendar, put in your information for your daily, weekly and monthly events that you know the dates for sure. I would suggest doing three months worth of those events/assignments/tasks. This will let you avoid any surprises when the time comes!
5. Make your own planner!
Buy a cheap journal and draw out your own weekly or monthly schedules. Try out different formats. Write out different fonts. It is so fun to use your own creativity and preferences to plan out your schedule. When you get to design a planner yourself, I promise you will feel so much more in control of your life in general.
Here's a few of the layouts I like to use in my own bullet journal:

I hope these tips help you feel a little less stressed in your day-to-day life. Let me know what works for you!
